I love you.
People in the world today are very busy and find themselves preoccupied with many things such as new technology, careers, family, bills, loneliness and competition, amongst other things. As one matures in age, though, life will seem to lose its spice and some of the more simple things will tend to outshine the luster of what was once thought of as the great and mighty goals and rewards of this present life. What happens next is the questioning of what life is really about. You feel lost and begin to contemplate deep inside if any of it is really what it seems to be. “What is life really about,” “Does any of this ’stuff’ really matter,” “Does anyone really love me or is it all just a facade?” It’s hard to find truth in a world surrounded by difficulties and consumed with competition and greed.
When I was young my dad would often tell me, “Say what you mean and mean what you say.” I would eventually come to find that what my dad was attempting to engrave into my mental bank of learned wisdoms of the parent-to-child relation would be entered into the list of endangered and extinct species of the most precious kind. Unfortunately the phrase “I love you” would be intimately connected with many other things that are being sacrificed by the growing desires of this present world. Even within the family unit, which is itself tenuously hanging on and faiding away with the abundance of live-in relationships, same-sex relations, divorce and abortion due to the increasing carnal selfishness of the modern day lifestyle, the meaning of the phrase “I love you” can seem to get lost in all its simplicity.
My hope here is to help bring a real understanding of the phrase “I love you” to all who happen upon my blog. It is a real phrase with real meaning from someone who really loves you, personally and intimately.
Thank you for reading and enjoy your stay,
Kathy
