Don’t Say the Word “Missionary!”

Those of us who are Christians, especially those who are called “Evengelical,” “saved,” or “born-again” are looked on with disdain by many, especially those cultures who seethe at the thought of missionaries being in their country or even the taste of the word in their mouth. One culture I know of thinks that all missionaries are in connection with a secret service agency of another country who is trying to take their land away from them.

I just wanted to clear something up. We as Christians are called to love everyone, just as Jesus loved us enough to die for us to remove our sins and was resurrected to defeat death and give us eternal life. To us this command to love is just that, a commandment, not an option. Christians reach out to the world, not to convert people, but to inform them of the good news of salvation. God’s Plan of Salvation
Conversion is a thing that only God is capable of accomplishing and we know this.

Our job is simply to spread the good news of salvation with anyone and everyone who will listen. We are simply giving away free information (as salvation is itself free, a gift from God) that will indeed save your eternal life. This in turn means that you can be sure that you are loved and will never have to see the scarey, firey place after this life.

We know we cannot change a person’s heart and mind (which is the sole job of God), but we HAVE to get the message out so that everyone will know. This, also, is not an option for us, but a commandment given to us by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who was born of the virgin Mary in a little town called Bethleham and raised in Nazareth.

Jesus, if you remember, healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, raised the dead, spoke wisdom and love into people’s hearts, and the other thing, which many non-Christians forget, is that He FORGAVE SINS and still does to this day! My sweet Muslim friends remind me that even the prophets of the Old Testament raised people from the dead. Yes, that is true as they did it by the power of God. But they never even attempted to forgive sin nor did they claim to be God’s Son.

One other thing is true. There is POWER in the name of Jesus. If you get into trouble, just try this out: Call out, “God!” Call out, “Allah!” Call out, ” Buddah!” Call out to mother nature. Then call out to JESUS and see who shows up. I guarantee that Jesus will be the only one who comes to your side in times of trouble.

There is really no need to have missionary phobia because they are only working with and through the love of God that was shown to us by the Messiah Jesus Christ.

I just felt the need to write this on my blog. I love each and every one of you out there in this hard and fallen world. So does Jesus. And He’s alive and well, looking down on you right now waiting for you to call out His name.

Ask Him to come into your heart and He will change you from the inside out. That is a promise, and God is faithful to His promises. You will be like you’re in a love microwave cooking on high! He’ll take your heart, soften it, love on it, tickle it, fill it with all kinds of goodies and before you know it, you’re feeling like you’re on top of the world! Hehe! It’s really a nice thing, I just wish people were not so scared of it.

With much love and many blessings from Jesus to all of you,

kathy
